Asus EeeBOX

Replacing the traditional bulky PC is the Asus Eee Box, an ultra portable PC that believes in saving power. Running on Microsoft windows Home WP, the Eee PC is powered by Intel Atom N270 (1.6 GHz) processor. The most innovative of this desktop is Asus fast boot technology – express gate that allows system reboot in just 7 seconds.


Compared to the regular desktops, this device is expected to reduce power consumption by 90 percent and is a silent worker at 26db level. It comes with the Wi-Fi 802.11n standard wireless, ensuring fast download speed and made of earth-friendly materials.

Wood gives a device a sophisticated, retro luxury look which is down-to-earth at the same time. Maybe it is the sense of warmth that nature imparts or just the elegant texture of wood. Asus has chosen this look for its latest notebook. Called the U6V, the machine uses what else, bamboo wood for major part of its shell with the Asus logo neatly etched into the top lid. Accompanying it is a wood-texture optical mouse, a Targus carry case and the usual chargers, etc.

The 12.1 inch screen is fine—till you change your viewing angle. The screen has a larger border that could have been utilized to make the working area bigger. The keyboard and the wooden track pad are decently large. The right and left click keys of the track pad are also made of bamboo wood.

With a lot of firepower within the bio exteriors, this laptop is a rush to work on. The applications open up rapidly and even games run nicely. The notebook has Asus’s super hybrid engine that increases the battery life by 35 percent and also the overall performance by 23 per cent. A button is allocated for power and performance management. Located right below the screen, this button has four power modes to choose from. Asus also claims the Bamboo U6V emits less carbon dioxide.
